SoCAT Lab once again returned from a conference with an award

This year ar the 12th International Congress on
Psychopharmacology & 8th International
Symposium on Child and Adolescent
Psychopharmacology (ICP 2021), the research
project titled “Whole- Brain Morphometric
Studies in Sexually Abused Female
Adolescence by Voxel- Based Morphometry”
conducted by M.D. Melek Hande Bulut Demir
as part of SoCat Lab has won the juri special
award and a research fellowship. We wish Dr.
Melek Hande Bulut Demir further success in
the future.

About Our Group

Short for “Standardization of Computational
Anatomy Techniques for Cognitive and
Behavioral Sciences”, SoCat was formed in
2006 with support from United Stated
Brookhaven Laboratory and Ege University
Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı Foundation. After
2007 with the return of one of the founding
members Prof. Dr. Ali Saffet Gönül back to
Turkey, together with the other two founders
rof. Dr. Ömer Kitiş and Prof. Dr. Çağdaş Eker,
SoCat settled permanently at Ege University
Faculty of Medicine Psychiatry and Radiology
Department. Volunteering scientists joined as
the number of member rapidly increased. With
the motto of “Passion for Discovering the
Truth”, SoCat Lab aims to uncover the limits of
the brain while also developing artificial
intelligence systems for the early diagnosis of
psychiatric disorders. SoCat lab accepts many
students every year and has over 20
researchers working in the many different
disciplines within the lab. Collaborating
